HSE SpecialistNorth YorkPosition OverviewSupport a safety culture that encompasses the highest ethical standards aligned with the organization’s goalsOccupational health and safety professional , Industrial Hygiene, BiosafetyUp-to-date knowledge on health and safety legislations as it applies to specific industries.Experienced in developing and writing policy, procedures and risk assessments.Responsibilities:Conduct chemical risk assessments Conduct air sampling campaigns for chemicals as per risk assessmentsNoise assessments as part of C&Q activities; produce a noise map for every room/process area as required. Update noise maps as work/activities evolve during start-up activities – assessments for all in-use equipmentRespiratory fit-testing – as required based on chemical risk assessments and air sampling outcomes; to be completed as needed based on potential employee exposureQualifications:Good attitude and must be a team playerBe able to work independently at times when a task is delegated and be resourceful or have appropriate discretion to seek the required helpHave general knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and related to the following areas:Have knowledge and/or experience and/or exposure in the Industrial Hygiene areasHave knowledge and/or experience and/or exposure with CSA standardsHave knowledge and/or experience and/ or exposure with construction environmentHave knowledge and/or experience and/ or exposure to facilities/ systems start-up, commissioning
