Painter

Northplex Ltd., builds and sells modular residential homes and commercial buildings with unparalleled customer service in Western Canada. All modules are constructed in-house at our 165,000 square foot climate-controlled facility in Barrhead Alberta, using new and cutting-edge technology. As the manufacturer, we can control the process to provide quality homes on time and on budget for both developers and new home buyers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping and sanding
• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting
• Mix and thin paint accurately to obtain desired colour and texture
• Work within the larger team to create a safe, clean and efficient workplace
• Operate compressors, spray equipment and other small power equipment in a safe, efficient way
• Follow procedures accurately and carefully to ensure work is completed to highest standards
• Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications

• Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Painting experience is an asset
• Great attention to detail with ability to focus on tasks for a prolonged period of time
• Team oriented thinker, with the ability to work on a team or independently
• Perform duties in an organized and productive manner and in a fast paced environment
• Strong organizational skills, including effective prioritization and follow-up
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes
• Proven ability to work in a safe manner and follow safety procedures
• Ability to stand for long periods of times
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Salary : $18.00-$22.00 per hour
