This individual has responsibility for the documentation and evaluation of the Firm's system of quality control for the assurance practice, in collaboration with the NPSG leader. This Senior Manager will serve as a subject matter expert on quality control standards and will collaborate across the enterprise on the development of the system of quality control for the assurance practice. This individual will have primary responsibility to lead the implementation and maintenance of the system of quality control for the assurance line of business.

The role also includes supporting the National Office of Risk Management in responding to CPAB inspection matters related to the Firm’s system of quality control, as well as matters arising from provincial practice inspections, inter-office inspections and internal monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement methodology related to the system of quality control
  • Support and maintain Firm manuals, tools, templates and guidance
  • Provide support to the National Office of Risk Management related to inspection matters
  • Develop and facilitate internally and externally focused training
  • Enhance the talent experience as a career advisor and mentor, where applicable
  • Improve the quality of our audit practice in terms of audit efficiency and effectiveness Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CPA required
  • Minimum 8 years progressive experience in a national CPA Firm involved in the Assurance practice or equivalent, including a minimum of three years managing others
  • Experience performing audit engagements conducted in accordance with CAS
  • Must exhibit an exceptional client service attitude, possess outstanding people skills and take a proactive approach in working with employees
  • Ability to exercise professional and technical discretion on matters of significance
  • Strong organizational proficiencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Location and Travel
  • The location is open, with a preference to be located in a city with an RSM office.
  • Travel required for participation with professional organizations, continuing professional education, internal meetings and various projects, when dictated as appropriate by the firm. Travel is estimated to be 5-10%.

Compensation Range: $97,000 - $165,000

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
