Position Description: The School of Engineering at the University of Guelph invites applications from scholars who identify as women for a tenured appointment in the area of Electrical Engineering, at the level of Full Professor. Applicants must have research expertise in Electrical Engineering. The ideal candidate is expected to have an internationally recognized, externally funded, and independent research program, and an impactful record of research outputs and publications. The candidate will have a successful track record and ability to supervise graduate and undergraduate students, teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, develop, and teach innovative graduate and undergraduate courses in the area of Electrical Engineering, contribute to teaching design courses, and provide service to the University and the engineering profession. The candidate must hold an undergraduate university degree in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario or ability to immediately obtain registration is a requirement of this position at the time of hiring. The School of Engineering (SOE) at the University of Guelph has accredited undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Systems and Computing, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Water Resources Engineering. The school is planning to launch three new programs: Mechatronics Engineering (Fall 2025), Civil Engineering, and Electrical Engineering (Fall 2026). Being the first hire for Electrical Engineering, the candidate is expected to contribute significantly to the Electrical Engineering program curriculum development and design.
