Your opportunity: Reporting jointly to the Chief Technical Officer and the Manager, Budget & Operations Strategic Initiatives you will perform a wide range of financial, administrative, facilities and project-tracking functions for SciNet. You will support operational needs by monitoring restricted funds, processing payroll records, arranging facilities service calls, proving administrative support suchas taking meeting minutes, preparing agendas and maintaining the unit's attendance records. Your responsibilities will include: Administering accounts for restricted funds. Planning and administering expenditures for operating budget. Monitor department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocations. Liaising with internal and external contacts to facilitate purchasing and/or procurement processes/and or policies. Applying the generally accepted accounting principles to all financial tasks. Acting as the first point of contact for event-related enquiries. Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming. Resolving issues that may occur during events and escalating problems as required. Scheduling day-to-day project activities. Taking and distributing meeting minutes. Applying established standards to control the distribution of access to designated University spaces. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, finance or related filed or acceptable combination of education and experience. Minimum three (3) years' of related financial administration experience including some administering restricted funding. Strong SAP Financial Information System (FIS) and Human Resources Information System (HRIS) or equivalent system experience Strong computer skills in MS Office 365 including strong skills in spreadsheet applications Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated strong attention to detail Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize responsibilities Demonstrated problem solving skills, discretion and judgement Ability to apply guidelines and procedures in a variety of situations.
