Communications Disorder Assistant / Speech Language Assistant This itinerant position, under the direction / supervision of the Speech and Language Pathologists, will provide speech, language and literacy support to students individually as well as small groups. CDAs / SLAs provide support to students to achieve success in academic, behavior, social, life skills and co-op situations. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, CDAs / SLAs contribute to the learning development and integration of all students by creating a safe and supportive environment. Required Qualifications for all CDA / SLA positions: CDA Certificate Plus a relevant university degree, or a two-year college diploma in the human services field (Behavioural Sciences - related to ABA, Child and Youth Worker, Child Care Worker, Developmental Service Worker, Early Childhood Education, Educational Assistant - Special Needs Support, Human Services Administration, Registered Nurse, Sign Language Communicator, Sign Language Interpreter, Social Service Worker, or an Ontario Teaching Certificate). A COPY OF YOUR CDA CERTIFICATE & DIPLOMA / DEGREE MUST BE ATTACHED TO YOUR ATE PORTFOLIO. University degree holders must also attach transcripts showing related courses. STATUS QUALIFICATIONS Education Centre Midhurst, Ontario Bronwen Davis 1.0 FTE Itinerant Required: Communicative Disorder Assistant Diploma or equivalent diploma/degree. A valid Ontario Drivers Licence and a reliable vehicle; kilometrage reimbursable at the established rate. Preferred: Experience maintaining documentation of a student process. Experience working was a Communicative Disorders Assistant in a school setting. Additional Information: This position is itinerant and the successful incumbent will be required to service a number of schools throughout the SCDSB.
