Designated Early Childhood Educator

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Designated Early Childhood Educator. Reporting to the Principal, the Designated Early Childhood Educator will partner with the Kindergarten Teacher to plan and implement a full-day early learning program. The Designated Early Childhood Educator will collaborate in the design of programs and environments which will enhance children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.
Qualifications and Skills Required : Two year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma; Proof of current membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE); A minimum of six (6) months recent experience working in an early learning centre or day care; Knowledge of Ministry of Education full-day kindergarten program; Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the general public; Proven ability to follow directions, policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner; Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality; Proven ability to deal with difficult situations and to take appropriate action in stressful or emergency situations according to policies and procedures; Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate programs; Basic computer skills, strong organization and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines; Current CPR and First Aid Certification would be an asset.

to the Board prior to beginning employment. Upon hire to the SCDSB, all

to complete rapid antigen testing on a regular basis. All new employees will be
required to complete mandatory training modules with the Board prior to their
