Customer Service Representative

Our Burlington office is seeking a skilled and motivated Customer Service Representative. The primary function of a customer service representative is to provide exceptional customer service to all customers and employees. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Training in product knowledge of building materials for the drywall industry will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers.
  • Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as a top priority.
  • Work with other team members (dispatch, warehouse, and delivery) to ensure a high level of effectiveness.
  • Assist with business development through phone sales – contacting key or dormant accounts to promote products and services.
  • Assist outside sales with job quoting and sales administration.
  • Ad hoc reporting and tracking of sales activity.
  • Customer service and communication – in store sales and other
  • Store administration, inventory and maintenance – Invoices, accuracy, and cycling.
  • Open document management of POs, SOs, Transfers, and Credits
  • Communicate issues and successes to appropriate superior(s) in a timely manner.
  • Communicate all information and instructions respectfully.
  • Follow all regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Health and safety conscious.
  • Ability to take direction and promote a team atmosphere at all times.
  • University degree or diploma in business or equivalent experience and on the job training.
  • Previous experience in building materials supply industry preferred.
  • High degree of reading, writing, numeracy, and oral communication skills (speak, read, and write in English).
  • Pleasant phone manner.
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use Excel (pivot tables and reports), Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and comfortable with tight deadlines and customer demands.
  • Ability to cope with last minute changes.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as team.
  • Physical requirements include.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Climbing up and down stairs (houses and trucks).
  • Bending and standing with weight.
