Davina’s Swim House is seeking energetic, motivated, self-starting Aquatic Leadership Conductor to teach National Lifeguard, Instructor, AST, and/or Examiner courses on a free lance basis (weekends and/or school breaks) within our growing swim school.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Plan and teach high quality and interactive leadership for all participants
  • Prepare instructional materials that meet a variety of learners needs
  • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (i.e. attendance, record progress, course documentation and test sheets)
  • Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and ensure all safety and life guarding procedures are adhered to and, in the event of an emergency, respond as trained by the Association
  • Enforce all rules and regulations and maintain order as a proactive approach to ensuring safety and accident prevention
  • Set up and take down lane ropes and other equipment as required checking that equipment is safe and in good repair. Report immediately all malfunctions and remove the damaged equipment from circulation
  • Performs required maintenance duties, including but not restricted to: closing the facility, cleaning and disinfecting, and pool chemistry tests

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Previous experience teaching NL, Swim or Lifesaving Instructor, AST, and/or Examiner courses

  • Current lifeguard award

  • Current Standard First Aid Award

  • Current awards in the streams in which you are certified to teach and could include:

  • Current Swim or Lifesaving IT Award

  • Current NL Instructor and NL Examiner Award

  • Current AST Instructor

  • Current Lifesaving Instructor and Bronze Examiner

  • Acceptable Police Check for Vulnerable Sector

Hourly Wage : $27.00-$36.00 per hour (depending on course)
