The responsibility of the Quality Assurance Specialist is to ensure consistent quality of production and plant sanitation by developing and enforcing good manufacturing practices (GMP), developing and deploying process monitoring and control measures, tracking documentation, securing required quality certifications, and supporting production.

A day in the life :

  • Follow established methods and programs, Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure proper cleaning and QA recording are upheld.
  • Create SOPs where needed.
  • Ensure that safe conditions exist at all times within the work environment and take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of the team.
  • Oversee regulatory requirements for Canada and the US.
  • Ensures that food safety requirements are met in daily production and sanitation operations.
  • Perform routine audits and provide guidance for activities on the production floor and areas including QA and cleaning record keeping.
  • Ensure the facility is audit-ready always and provide support as required in all audits, including GFSI and Organic audits.
  • Responsible for quality testing including examining raw materials, process and finished products to ensure they comply with quality and food safety standards
  • Create and deliver training as required to support adherence to best practices and compliance to regulations
  • Liaise with the production team and on-site staff on a regular basis and provide quality oversight and to support and perform investigations

You have :

  • Previous experience in food safety or Quality Assurance role in a Food production environment
  • Food Safe Certificate is required
  • Strong understanding of Sanitation, SOP’s, Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCP’s and GMP’s
  • Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft Office

Salary : $22.00-$25.00 per hour
