Position Summary

A day in the life of an IT Operations Project Manager

Project Management :

  • Organize project scoping, planning and approval to ensure proper structuring and set up project for success.
  • Leading the communication of project scope, objectives, key success criteria and expectations
  • Identifying project resource requirements and escalating resource constraints
  • Building and managing the project schedule, defining the critical path, tracking activities to ensure functional team members are meeting agreed upon deadlines and approvals, generating, and communicating status reports, and escalating critical issues.
  • Facilitating problem solving for project setbacks and issues
  • Preventive management of roadblocks and generation of project risk mitigation plans
  • Coordinating and facilitating project meetings including kick-off meetings, project team meetings, risk assessments, lessons learned, post launch reviews and additional meetings as required
  • Providing visibility and transparency on project status to cross functional team members, business leaders in Operation and IT Leadership / Functional IT.

Leadership :

  • Demonstrate customer centricity and partnership with business, IT and local digital hub organization to deliver promised value and outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional team in identifying and mitigating risks and opportunities. Identify solutions to remove roadblocks and drive corrective action to meet project goals and business commitment
  • Drive accountability and transparency across the function to ensure all teams are clear on project deliverables and statues
  • Support the team in updates and information flow to the various project tracking tools and providing full visibility
  • Organizing monthly review sessions with various teams, setting up ongoing sessions and implementing scrum like structure into current teams.
  • Act as a backup to the Digital Manufacturing leader during PTO and other absences or priorities
  • Be the leader and expert behind how we structure our projects and lead our teams to achieve true success in our key deliverables

Process Management :

  • Working with the business, external partners and supporting teams to ensure roadblocks are removed.
  • Connecting with external teams to manage, collect input and project requirements to properly scope and resource the projects
  • Ensuring proper documentation on processes within the projects are completed successfully by the project teams
  • Managing assigned projects and their cross-functional teams through the established processes as well as ensuring sustainability
  • Ensure after completion reviews are completed, and regular check points are established to validate the effectiveness of the project and deliverables continue to be met
  • Maintain and drive effective use of project templates and documentation throughout project lifecycle

What will make you successful?

  • Familiar with Supply Chain and Factory Operations. Former IT project management in these areas are preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, adept at navigating ambiguity and uncertainty while effectively steering project teams. Proficiency in concurrently managing multiple projects.

Bachelor’s Degree and relevant work experience

  • Experience in Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodologies and leading a team around it.
  • Prior experience in managing projects or project management. PMP certification is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in project management software and tools
  • Ability to working collaboratively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to multitask
  • Strong time management skills and able to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of CPG or Manufacturing is a plus
