Summary:This position is responsible for the safe operation of Packaging Equipment including but not limited to the following; Horizontal Wrapper, Vertical Form and Fill, Cartoners, Pallet Wrappers, Guillotine and Tumbling Drum. Essential Functions of the Job: Set up, adjust and operate production packaging equipment according to the production schedule.Trouble shoot equipment deficiencies and assist with corrective action.Ensure proper packaging materials are being utilized according to production schedule.Measure and reduce scrap and rework.Perform basic Quality Control functions, i.e. Carton and Case code verification.Record and document equipment downtime, line efficiency and throughput.Clean and sanitize primary packaging equipment when required.Transport finished goods throughout plant manually and or using powered equipment.Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Policies.Responsible for Food Safety and reporting any non-compliance issues to their immediate supervisor.Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when required.Responsible for ensuring work area is clean and organized.Comply all SunOpta Quality and food safety standards, HACCP, GMPs, Organic, GFCO, SQF, Kosher certificate and customer requirements.All other duties as assigned.
