This position will have knowledge of the use of CNC machine tools and assist to the specifications of design and quality during the set up and prove out of existing processes so that the highly precise parts being produced are of the highest quality and adhere to the strict quality standards and product out-put requirements. Must be able to adapt to a changing work environment, and competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist and/or conduct the installation and set-up (change over) of CNC equipment (bar feeder settings, tool holders, colletes, etc.) as required for ongoing production requirements
- Understanding basic CNC programs
- Read and interpret CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) reports
- Identify, select, and prepare tooling set up sheet and installation of tooling, coolant lines etc. on CNC Machines
- Provide direction to CNC Operators along with or in the absence of the shift supervisor
- Continue to encourage continuous improvement and environmental awareness culture
- Must communicate and work effectively with work-team members and interact with Managers & Supervisors to take direction on job assignments, to seek clarification on blueprints or job instructions and to seek assistance when issues arise
- Interact effectively with co-workers to exchange tips about methods and procedures, to relay new information and safety precautions, to receive instructions or to instruct others how to perform new assignments
- Train and assist CNC Operators with troubleshooting as needed
- Inspect finished products and parts to make sure they meet the required specifications
- Interprets blueprints and engineering drawings
- Perform “First-Off’s” of equipment
- Troubleshooting machining operations and resolve problems with tooling on machines
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
- Adhere to all Company Health & Safety regulations, Quality procedures and Work Instructions
- Maintain and upkeep ongoing housekeeping requirements of your workstation

Glueckler Metal Inc., first established through trial and error in the family-owned garage back in 1985, is a family-owned operation that has evolved over the past 30+ years to become a world-class precision machining, high volume, SRC (Safety Related Components) parts supplier within the automotive and heavy transportation industries. Currently employing around 100 team members, much of our staff have become like family, many having served 20 or even 30 years with the company.
