We are currently looking for 2 casual part-time weekend receptionists to join our growing and dynamic team! The schedule for this position is Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am until 4:00pm.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, performs all duties related to reception of guests or visitors to the Villa; operates a telephone console; sorts incoming Resident mail; performs basic clerical functions and projects as requested
  • Operates the telephone switchboard; maintains an awareness of names, locations, and general functions of staff members in order to refer callers to the proper extensions; accesses the resident listing from the database as needed
  • Assists in routine security functions by maintaining an awareness of confused residents not capable of safe, unrestricted movement; renders assistance for calling for help when necessary; controls key distribution from the key panel through the use of a sign-out log; enquires politely as to a visitor’s or stranger’s business where any question exists; understands the police alarm procedure and its use; and calls for police assistance if necessary
  • Participates in emergency preparedness procedures as required including fire, bomb threat, disaster or evacuation, maintains a current awareness of all procedures and plans; calls fire or police as required; makes announcements or carries out such emergency operations as might be required under the circumstances
  • Provides information and direction as necessary to owners of St. Joseph’s Estates; maintains the St. Joseph’s Estates key cabinet as per established procedures

FORMAL EDUCATION :

  • Secondary School graduation diploma is required
  • Complete technical understanding of the operation of the switchboard console is required
  • Basic business and clerical skills are required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with stressful situations in a calm, cool, polite manner are essential
  • Some knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required
