Junior Construction Estimator

Nusite is looking to add an experienced waterproofing and concrete estimator to our team. We are looking for an individual that can work efficiently and with a high level of accuracy while meeting deadlines and supporting our client-first approach. They will join an existing team and will be able to think dynamically, work independently and within a team and report to the owners of the company.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Interpret the plans and specifications and make the necessary calculations for pricing of tenders.
  • Prepare pre-qualification and/or tender submissions and present to senior team.
  • Identify material and subcontractor requirements by reviewing drawings, blueprints, reports, specifications, and all related project documents.
  • Analyze quantities of specific change orders for extras pricing and produce graphic and charts for submittal.
  • Calculate all material, labour and mobilization costs.
  • Ensure pricing is requested and received in good time for closing the project.
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current/accurate information on prices from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and/or bids forms to senior team members.
  • Ensure that worksheets and related take-off forms/submittals are presented in a way that is clearly understandable to others reviewing the information.
  • Only when required, attend tender site visits and interact with clients during tendering phase to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Prepare project specific closeout documents to hand over to senior team members.
  • Responsible to maintain accounts on all bidding platforms, websites and ensure active searches are done daily to procure work.
  • Participate in weekly meetings, taking notes and ensuring meeting minutes are documented.

Requirements :

  • 2+ years estimating experience.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excels in a team environment, but can also work independently.

Salary : $17.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
