Overview: Responsibilities :

  • Lead and effectively manage technical professionals by setting performance expectations, monitoring performance, and providing coaching
  • Develop and implement software development methodologies, standards, and procedures
  • Scope and plan development efforts and dependencies with the product management team and other stakeholders
  • Lead the design, architecture, and successful implementation of quality products using new technologies and tools
  • Hire, train, and develop new talent for a high-performing team
  • Accountable for delivery according to pre-agreed timelines and budgetary constraints
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
  • +7 years of experience in software development with +3 years in leadership roles managing and building software development teams
  • Demonstrated experience in software development technologies and concepts
  • Strong experience working with cloud infrastructure, Azure and AWS
  • Practical expertise using agile delivery with deep understating of core agile concepts, as well as continuous delivery and deployment methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience working with front and back-end technologies using multiple IT platforms and languages, such as:.NET Ecosystem, RESTful Web Services, HTML, CSS, experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React and AngularJS), Node.js, jQuery, RDBMS such as MySQL and MS SQL Server, SSRS/SSIS,.NET/C#, Bootstrap, Angular, Entity Framework, DevOps (CI/CD)
  • Ability to work and manage a team
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, and managing a high-performing development team
  • Must strive to create a positive work environment, provide technical and professional mentorship to team members, and actively work to create strong business and employee relations
  • Must be able to work outside of normal business hours (weekend shifts, holidays, & evenings) as needed. Must be available to work, as required, in the event a major incident is identified requiring resolution facilitation and/or communications
  • Ability to travel to North York office as well as work from home
