Position Summary : Under the general direction of the Director, Total Rewards & Human Resources (Shared Services) this position is responsible for supporting the effective delivery and quality support of Total Rewards & Human Resources programs and services across all properties owned or operated by Great Canadian Gaming Corporation; including design, development, change management, communication, and training for end users. The Specialist, Total Rewards & Human Resources (Shared Services) will work with the appropriate stake holders to design and development and maintain the company’s, programs and policies, development and maintenance of the company’s intranet, handbooks, offer letter templates and forms and will provide support and advise on programs and policies that touch on team members across all properties and functions across the company.

Working with team members, operations and Human Resources management across the company, as well as collaborating with Total Rewards, Payroll and the Human Resources Systems & Projects teams, the Specialist, Human Resources (Shared Services), Legal and Compliance to ensure adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian’s learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

This is a contract role for 1 year based out of Our Corporate office in North York.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Updates and maintains communication materials and manuals including the development and delivery of communication material/training documentation for new and existing Total Rewards & Human Resources programs and services, as needed.
  • It the main point of contact for HR internal audits
  • Stays up to date on employment related legislation and changes, support the creation of new policies and/or revision of existing policies, collaborates with Human Resources leaders and other stakeholders, finalized and maintains documentation as required; prepared communication and training materials as applicable; provides end user training if needed and responds to questions from team members, people leaders and Human Resources teams as applicable.
  • Maintains the Total Rewards & Human Resources pages on the Company’s intranet - the HUB on Sharepoint; including - Human Resources Policies & Procedures, forms, organization charts, FAQs, Events, News and Notices and ensures content is refreshed regularly and remains current and relevant.
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Undertakes other tasks and projects as assigned

Education and Qualification Requirements :

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Human Resources, Economics or Social Sciences or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources work including program and policy development and maintenance
  • A recognized Human Resources certification an asset
  • A solid understand of the team member lifecycle from hire to retire with a focus on providing exceptional service to our stakeholders and a superior team member experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high volume and changing priorities, and able to work on own and by collaborating as part of a high performing team
