Accountivity Temporary Staffing is hiring!Our client in Peel Region, ON is actively looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. Job Title: Senior AccountantLocation: Peel Region, ONLength of Assignment: TemporarySalary: $-$/hr Job Objective:The Senior Accountant is a part of the Finance team of a rapidly growing organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for providing analytical support to the Controller, managing the Accounts Payable, reconciliation of various corporate asset and liability accounts, analysis of Income Statement accounts, research discrepancies, assisting with month end close process, and other accounting related duties as assigned. Core Competencies: Quality and Detail Orientation Time Management Creative and Innovative Thinking Development and Continual Learning Problem Solving Accountability and Dependability Research and Analysis Decision making and Judgement Ethics and Integrity Communication Team Work Adaptable to change Strong work ethic Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Perform month end closing activities and review branch P&L & make necessary adjustments Maintain all balance sheet schedules current on monthly basis Prepare detail calculation of Vendor and Customer rebates. Review accruals monthly and perform quarterly deep dive analysis to validate accruals Prepare detail freight analysis on monthly basis and oversee freight billing Assist with Financial reporting package Review and upload Trial balance from SAP to Streamline (ERP) for manufacturing division Prepare daily cash flow forecast and report to US parent company Prepare weekly AR status report and update comments for AR, over days Comply with and promote corporate policies, procedures, company's code of ethics and ensure proper internal controls are being followed Review daily bank reconciliation and support Junior accountant on coding Provide variance and cost analysis on a monthly basis Review and reconcile various GL accounts Supervise AP team as required Code non-PO invoices and work with AP to ensure invoices are posted on timely manner and statements are reconciled Upload weekly EFT and perform all govt filling (Sales Tax/CRA/WSIB/EHT) Oversee credit card and expense report process Manage Capex budget and tracking on monthly basis. Communicate to management on monthly basis. Support cross functional teams (Sales/Ops) for reporting requirements Assist on annual budget and prepare budget model Assist with annual audit and provide backup as required Assist with other projects/duties as required Qualifications University degree in accounting, finance or related field Minimum years of experience in a similar role Previous experience in full cycle accounting is mandatory Thorough understanding of accounting principles and ASPE Distribution experience preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products ( Excel, Word and Outlook) Excellent proficiency in English, verbal and written, French is an asset Documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multitasking skills Higher level of accuracy and attention to detail is must Innovative and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment Adaptable to change Ability to work independently or as a team member Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines Excellent and effective verbal, listening and written communication skills Strong work ethic If you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume.Please note that while we appreciate all applications, only those being considered will be contacted.
