Senior Workplace Interior DesignerOur client, an office furniture dealer in the west end, is looking to add an Intermediate AND Senior Interior Designer to work on workplace projects. In this key role you will be responsible for supporting the outside sales teams in the growth and maintenance of their accounts. This position is full-time, permanent and is paying $90 - $110K+ per year, depending on experience plus benefits and paid vacation. This is a hybrid (3 days/week) position.Our client, an office furniture dealer in the west end, is looking to add an Intermediate Interior Designer to work on workplace projects. In this key role you will be responsible for supporting the outside sales teams in the growth and maintenance of their accounts. This position is full-time, permanent and is paying $70 - $90K per year, depending on experience plus benefits and paid vacation. This is a hybrid work model.Job Description:Responsible for all phases of the design process from project conception through to working drawings, contract administration and project closeoutPrepare working drawings for the construction of large commercial office spaces working closely with Design Team members with close attention to details, finishes standards, specifications and schedulesAbility to work on concurrent interior design projects working independently in a team environment, overseeing and guiding the work of junior designers and delegating work.Ensure CAD standards, quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed during drawing planning and productionCoordinate with outside project consultants such as lighting, mechanical, electrical, structural, signage, etc. as necessary to complete a well-coordinated project.Efficient creation of excellent feasibility studies.Work to and meet project time lines and budget requirementsCollaborate in the development of concept design through planning, sketching, rendering and the creation of specialty finishesBuilds and maintain close client relationships and strong relationships with contractors/networkersGuides, mentors and trains members of the design team and delegates work to junior staffJob Requirements:Minimum of 8 years of relevant North American interior design experience in commercial designInterior design graduate with a 4 year Bachelors degree or diploma from an accredited interior design program or equivalent in Architecture.NCIDQ designation is an assetARIDO Membership in good standing is an assetDemonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD (version 2015 or higher), Revit (version 2015 or higher) is an asset. Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) Salesforce Illustrator Sketch-UpExtensive experience preparing complex working drawings and construction documents and in the design of commercial office spacesFully competent in construction and Contract Administration processes with rigorous attention to detail and accuracyStrong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and construction regulationsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal in the English language, to allow for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.Positive attitude, confident, focused and responsibleDemonstrated leadership experienceA valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehiclePlease email your resume to scorneil@recruitmentbydesign.com with the wording “Job #737, Senior Designer Workplace” in the subject line.
