Reporting to the Executive team, this individual will play a key role in managing the team/office, client relationships, and project outcomes, while providing guidance and coaching to a dozen junior and intermediate staff. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and liaise directly with top developers and consultants, as one of Ontario’s top Planning & Design consulting firms. The ideal candidate is: an experienced Planner and leader, has a strong industry reputation, is a self-starter, and most importantly, a team player with a ‘no task is too big or too small’ attitude.Salary for the role is fully flexible based on level of industry experience and exposure, plus bonus, benefits, RRSP matching, education/OPPI designation reimbursement, 4 weeks vacation, a hybrid work environment and tons of flexibility. Our Client is an advocate for diversity and recognizes the value of leadership.ResponsibilitiesManage team in the Hamilton office, as well as client relationships and project outcomesParticipate in hiring, coaching, training and mentoring PlannersReview planning rationale reports, including the analysis section and review sections prepared by junior staffOversee the completion of complex planning studies, development applications, OPA, rezoning, subdivisions, variance and consentsPresent to the public, Committees and Councils, clients and stakeholdersProvide high quality service to clients in a timely and efficient mannerManage reports dealing with a wide range of development and application typesProvide advanced detailed technical information and recommendations through written reports, public responses, internal memos, studies and presentations on current planning issues and the implications of various aspects of land use and developmentReview planning opinions and analytical reports for a wide range of planning studies, plans and applicationsDirect the team on collection of research data and information on a variety of properties across the GTHAPerform advanced professional work related to advanced planning assignments and land use projectsQualificationsMinimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with deep understanding of the real estate development industryPost-secondary education with a focus on Urban Planning is ideal.
