Key Responsibilities : Acts as a strategic partner in providing employee and labour relations advice, support, and guidance with respect to policies and legislation, interpretation/compliance to assist the Ontario region in achieving their operational goals Provide day-to-day HR support and coaching to management team and act as key contact for all HR-related matters Ensure Human Resources matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements Monitor and maintain employment legislation and ensure compliance to legislated requirements Ensure effective implementation of HR program and initiatives Create and maintain strong network and relations with employees and management team Perform special projects as assigned and other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies : Post-Secondary education in human resources, or a related field. CHRP designation is an asset At least 3 years of related experience in progressive human resources areas of expertise Experience working in a large complex multiple stakeholder and unionized environments Strong leadership skills focused on results and teamwork, with a client service orientation Advanced knowledge and experience of current Canadian labor laws, Human Rights and Employment Standards to resolve matters independently, while using appropriate judgment to seek guidance and counsel as required to navigate complex matters Demonstrated experience in writing professional documentation such as policies, procedures, labour briefings, business cases, disciplinary or corrective action, and corporate communications A valid G driver’s license, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel to various GFL locations Excellent communication & analytical skills
