Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure & Telecommunications, the System Administrator is responsible for the development of on-premises and cloud tenant account security groups, including applicable policies and all procedural and technical documentation. Conducts routine maintenance of all aspects of network, tenant, and internet account administration, including the system security, data integrity and end-user compliance, as well provides programming and server system operations and technical support to the Infrastructure analysts and Infrastructure Architect.

  • Post-secondary 3-year diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology/ Telecommunications or combination of education, training, experience
  • Post-secondary degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other related field of study is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365, and Azure or AWS
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in network account administration in a mid to large scale Microsoft active directory environment
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience with Microsoft Server platforms
  • Experience in writing Powershell/VBA Scripts to enable automation in the Microsoft environment
  • Working knowledge of CA ArcServe or other backup technologies is preferred.
  • Experience working with single or multiple tenants in an Office 365 environment is preferred.
  • Professional training and/or certification in Office 365, Azure, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and/or Skype for Business, VMware 5 administration, and Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2019 environments.
  • Foundation certification of ITIL v3 is preferred.
  • MCITP or other similar certification is preferred.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administrator is preferred.
  • Azure Administrator Associate Certificate is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Provides IT administration and support oversight of the infrastructure tools, software and hardware technologies, cloud and on-premises directory services, group policies, network switches and backup servers, evaluates compliance, and investigates opportunities to enhance performance for the infrastructure. (35%)
  • Conducts IT internal and external audits to ensure continued compliance.
  • Researches, evaluates and makes recommendations on cloud/on-premises active directory improvements and updates, designs and functionality, and optimization of operations through scripting for those systems.
  • Contributes to the development of Regional standards for system security and internal process/audit controls.
  • Reviews and interprets network access logs for on-premises and Office 365 environments to assist in operational audits.
