Mattamy is currently seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative individual to join our development team. This individual will work collaboratively with the Senior Manager to ensure a seamless and timely permit process to meet the business timelines. This is a critical role to ensure that we can deliver on the business plan to meet commitments to our partners and customers.

  • The company hybrid model is 3 days per week, however this role will be required to work 4 days in the office to support the requirements of the permit team.

What you’ll do

  • Support Departmental goals by assisting departmental team members as directed by the Permitting Manager.
  • Attend and adapt to numerous and varying policies and procedures required by municipalities within the Division.
  • Attend meetings at municipal offices and project locations to facilitate permit issuance.
  • Study and research comments tabled by municipal officials to facilitate permit clearance.
  • Examine and approve all incoming documents from municipalities and coordinate with Engineer and Control Architect for approval.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable building codes, zoning ordinances, and other legal regulations specific to each municipality.
  • Manage electronic and hardcopy storage and distribution of consultant drawings and documents.
  • Commute to different municipalities and/or sites to drop off permits as required.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with municipalities and external stakeholders
  • Develop, maintain, and document processes/a playbook

What y ou b ring

  • Post-secondary education/community college in a related field, such as construction, engineering and/or planning.
  • Understanding and ability to interpret information from architectural/engineering/landscape drawings.
  • Comprehension of Ontario Building Code as it relates to mid
  • and high-rise construction.
  • Required ability to understand and interpret municipal processes and agreements.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills essential.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Effective interpersonal skills; strong ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle required.

Bonus points

  • Equivalent work experience in mid - or high-rise construction.
