Job Title :Project Operations Manager

Location : Niagara Falls, Ontario

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES : Leading and overseeing the in-house project team (Tendering, Design and Engineering, Procurement, Production and Site teams) for the assigned contract or section of contract.

T endering**:

  • Work with the tendering team on scoping out specific features offered on our system
  • Assist in getting accurate pricing when necessary for specific scopes.

Design and Engineering :

  • Drawing reviews pre-submittal to ensure economical build ability of our systems
  • Feasibility and constructability reviews
  • Preliminary pricing for various scopes of work
  • Die drawing review for machining tolerance
  • Specification/information review for requests for quotation for Procurement Department.

Procurement :

  • Compliance with project requirements of procured materials
  • Scope out and verify vendor capabilities
  • Pair vendor with correct scope and amount of scope
  • Verify schedule and vendor expectations
  • Scope checklist
  • Packaging analysis.
  • Timely delivery of materials and fabricated/assembled components to factories and sites.
  • Overall budget realization for procured materials, logistics, fabrication/assembly.

Production :

  • Compliance with project requirements of fabricated/assembled components
  • Prepare the project execution plan and synchronize with all departments.
  • Communicate production expectations (packaging, marking, delivery method, crating etc.)
  • Follow through with the execution plan and ensure all team members deliver their respective commitments.
  • Assist with troubleshooting when necessary

Site :

  • Assist with kick off meetings and aiding in setting project goals.
  • Activities to be executed within SAP as indicated in the design, procurement, production, and installation processes.
  • Timely and qualitative production of visual mock-ups, components for test mock-ups, and first articles.
  • Timely providing of requested cost info including a forecast of the expected cost to the Project Controller regarding materials, production, and logistics.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and project reviews covering procurement, make-ability and transport-ability, cost developments, programs, resources, deliveries, and logistics.
  • Direct quality aspects and quality control for Group factories, suppliers, and third parties in coordination with the Project Quality Manager.
  • In a leadership role, you must communicate effectively on safety values, which are incorporated into the company’s values. Safety assessments are a priority within the company’s values and you must enforce and promote safety policies and procedures.

General :

  • Synchronize all department schedules and tasks with respect to the project executions plan
  • Review and balance department budgets with respect to the execution plan
  • Review if project elements are best fabricated in-house or procured and outsourced.
  • Adjust the project plan and manoeuvre around changes and unforeseen issue
  • Predominate focus on Procurement strategies and production logistics.
  • Implement new and more effective procurement and production procedures.
  • Provide training to the procurement and production staff on new procedures

WHAT WE 'RE LOOKING FOR :

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in curtain wall unitized construction/design and manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, serving with a sense of urgency
  • Customer focused, self-motivated, strong communication, organizational skills, Multi-task, detail oriented; strong analytical skills and accuracy
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and solutions
